- "Universal Pictures Logo History (Updated)" made by TR3X PR0DÚCTÍ0NS, 01/07/2021.
After nearly five years (half a decade!!), I have updated my Universal Pictures logo history video since the original video was a mess. This video also took less than two hours to make.
Founded in 1912 by Carl Laemmle (along with others) as the Universal Film Manufacturing Company, Universal Pictures is America's oldest film studio that is still running (30th April 1912). In 1962, the studio was acquired by MCA, which was re-launched as NBCUniversal in 2004. My next video will be "Universal Pictures Logo Variations".

Hello everyone! This video is an updated version of my Universal Pictures logo history video from nearly five years ago (half a decade!!).
If you're wondering why there aren't many variants in this video, that's because they will be featured in the next video called "Universal Pictures Logo Variations".
Stay tuned for that, and thanks for watching! Here's to the next time. :-)
Gosh!!!! I can't believe that the original logo history of Universal Pictures has just been 5 years ago?!?!!? Golly!!!! Time has definitely flied by lately. :O
@@omegafilmcorporation Indeed.
@@TR3XProductions1stChannel I know right!! :)

I ❤️ your logo history series
Excellent logo history! Universal has one of the most memorable logos of all time, especially the last two logos! The 100th-anniversary logo has so much suspense into it as we get to see the evolution of the logos! I also remember seeing the 12th logo numerous times in theaters! It's a great experience to see the Universal logo on the big screen! They also had outstanding special effects back in the day, especially the 7th, 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th logos! My most favorite logos from Universal would be the 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th logos! Looking forward to Universal Pictures Logo Variations!
Thanks Jonty! I agree with your comments about their logos, most of their logos had great visuals for the time (especially their logos from the 1930s-present).
Wow, I didn’t know there were so many plasters for the older logos. I heard the Paramount VistaVision theme in one!
Also, I’m also surprised that you didn’t have to repitch some of the logos for copyright purposes. I guess Universal is a lot more chill than Fox is.
This is one of the best Universal Logo Evolutions ever.
1:03 Porygon Music.
3:06 is my favorite; flashy, yet classy. As a film student at uni, I learned that Carl Laemmle had ~70 nephews on Universal's payroll in the 1920s, so his nickname on the lot was "Uncle Carl". The poet Ogden Nash wrote a witty couplet about it: "Uncle Carl Laemmle/Has a very large faemmle."
One of those nephews was the great director William Wyler, so it's not like they were all a bunch of freeloaders!
@@thepepperpot3809no shit.
This is probably the best logo history of Universal I've ever seen.
Universal Pictures, one of the biggest giants of all Hollywood history, the very first one that started it all. Remarkable
10:05 / 10:25 i honestly love this alternate fanfare. i wish they would've used it more often
I love when the interest cuts off into silence and you can just hear a few seconds of people whispering and chewing on popcorn in darkness before the film fades in
The 1997 one makes me feel nostalgic! Coming to think of it, I was three when it changed to the 2012 one. When I saw it in the cinema aged 6, it looked different. I didn't know why!
Very good updated logo history, great job buddy! (Also when looking at these logos I expected to hear "A wOrlDwIdE bOtAnY bAy pIcTuRe!")
@@TR3XProductions1stChannel Wow, suprised you still remember that logo?!
Brilliant updated logo history of Universal Pictures, Fabian bro!!!! I can't believe the original logo history you did of Universal was from 5 years ago, and 5 years later, here we are!! WOW!!!! But other than that, if I did pick a favourite, then my most favourite logos from Universal would definitely be the 6th, 7th, 10th, 11th and 12th logo. The 10th and 11th logos are definitely the best ones, as they are classics!!!! And that I'd remembered seeing it in alot of their films too. So much memories!!!! But like as always, awesome logo history Fabian bro and keep up with the awesome work!!!! :D :) ;)
Thanks Dylan bro! It is surprising that my previous logo history on Universal is nearly half a decade ago. My favourite logos from Universal are the last three logos (1990, 1997 and 2012). The 1990 and 1997 logos bring back many memories and I wish the James Horner fanfare from the 1990 logo was still used now, shame it was used for seven years but that's better than a few months! Hope you're looking forward to my logo variations video on Universal Pictures. :-)
@@TR3XProductions1stChannel You're welcome!! And yes, I am definitely looking forward to your upcoming logo variations of Universal Pictures indeed!!!! :D
@@TR3XProductions1stChannel Agree with Dylan, this is a great updated logo history of Universal, and the original logo history was 5 years ago! My favourite logo from Universal would probably be the last three logos (1990, 1997 and 2012-present).
@@TR3XProductions1stChannel That's really surprising that the original was that long ago! My favorite logos from Universal are also the 1990 (including the 75th anniversary variant), 1997, and the 2012 to present logo. Can't wait for the logo variations of Universal!
Love the Art Deco condensed style from the 1920s version.
Evolution Of Universal on a logo What a masterpiece 11:31
That one I believe is from BTTF.
I’m so obsessed with the Universal logo!!
(My favorite Universal logos are the 1963, 1997, and present logos)
@ 5:43 is the first logo I remember but @ 8:03 is my all time favorite. Lot of memories watching channel 11 growing up in New York TNT and TBS with this logo. That is to date the most realistic logo. At 8:17 mark
It's weird that the last 1990 logo in this set has the new fanfare Jerry Goldsmith wrote for the 1997 logo. (Brian Tyler rearranged & re-recorded it for the 2012 logo; its signature difference is the choir singing the closing riff -- a multiethnic & multinational, and thus "universal", choir. 😉 )
Whenever WPIX New York played the Abbott and Costello films on Sunday morning, the A UNIVERSAL PICTURE logo(spinning around the globe) is the one I remember best.
Or BTTF in da 90's.
I remember requesting this a while back thanks
Very good. This is the first time you uploaded this on July 1.
I can’t believe Universal Pictures celebrating 100 years which is 11 years ago! Isn’t that amazing?
0:20 ay, the 1913 Universal logo looks pretty cool, even in HD!
Loved it! I can’t wait for you to make the Logo Variations video for Universal! Love your content man!
I love the 75th anniversary logo the most!
Nice logo history
Excellent work in display!
The a capella version in Pitch Perfect will always be nostalgic to me (young me, who shouldn't have watched that movie at a young age)
Universal Pictures (1997 - 2012) definitely is the best.
FUN FACT: MCA (Music Corporation of America) actually started out as a talent agency, prior to buying Universal. They had to get rid of their talent agency business due to antitrust issues.
A legendary Hollywood studio it is
One Of my favorite Logo Universal Pictures
Good evolution bro earned a sub
How were the old logos animated before digital? Did they use an actual globe?
Yep. A real globe and some good effects.
Well done logo history. If WarnerMedia (soon to be Warner Bros. Discovery) merges with NBCUniversal, it could be Disney's true rival.
8:19 Philippines Is there!
I remember see the old logos watching woodywoodpecker
Ah yes the light up one I remember that one well. The good old days
THE TIME HAS COME
5:59 What variantion is this?
Good job
7:14 Scarface and The Dark Crystal. Some of the greatest universal movies of the 80s
I can't believe the "classic" logo music was only introduced that late!! I thought it went back to the beginning

Will you do a history on universal newsreel logos?
110 Years of universal pictures
Name of the film 2:45 was from?
1:40 most rememberable
I grew up with the Jerry Goldsmith fanfare, but the James Horner one will always be my favorite.
1936 Universal pops out on Woody Woodpecker Collector's edition vol.2 on Vhs.
9:22 That's the right feeling
9:22 when the nostalgia was around
Awesome
The current logo is absolutely the best! But a computer monitor can't communicate the thrill of seeing that animation, and hearing the fanfare, in a full-size movie theatre.
I believe the 1963-1990 logo was reused in 2016 for _Ouija: Origin of Evil._
I miss old logo of universal pictures
Anyone else notice that in one of the early logos the earth is rotating the wrong way?
Me too. Also in the 1922 logo, not only the globe is rotating the wrong way, but also Madagascar is three times bigger than in real life, and the globe is also missing Japan and Philippines. Strange, isn't it?
9:23
That’s from F9: The Fast Sucks.
Cool
With so many logos to choose from do you have a personal favorite from these?
Great question! Universal has many stylish logos it's so hard to choose which one is my favourite; I pick the seventh logo from 1936-47 since the Art Deco globe and decorations look fantastic, and the music fanfare sounds triumphant and jolly! It suits the atmosphere of the logo visuals well, and the logo was made using models (like their older logos) which is great.
I only recall the earliest one I saw was the one that had the plane revolve around the globe.

The Nostalgia Critic was right about The Cat In The Hat starring Mike Myers. He even thought Mike advertised Universal Studios during the movie. Yeah, talk about My Little Pony. At least Rachel Tietz had a My Little Pony toy and sung about it during the Cat In The Hat review.
