Between 1 million to 1.5 is the estimate but I don't know. This is when they finally dropped the iron curtain in Russia so people could finally have democracy and do what they wanted. There had never really seen any worthwhile concerts from any artists from America so we decided to give a free concert over there. Metallica, ACDC, Pantera and the Black Crowes were all there. Now this was a real concert the kids wanted, not all that glam crap! Imagine if you were young and had heard about the great rock and metal from America, the UK, etc. probably had heard some of it bootleg. Wouldn't you want to go to a free concert? So yes sir this is all real, no cgi just the real thing.
They only estimated 1 million because it was really impossible to tell just how many people were there. Some people have analyzed the footage and figure it's only around 500,000... others think it is probably closer to 1.5 million, as the crowd apparently extended behind the stage almost as far out as in front. This concert likely would be holding a world record for biggest concert ever had it happened in an environment where they could properly estimate how many people were there. But this was Russia, post Soviet Union, and it was complete chaos. There are stories of the military personnel you see in the video getting so caught-up in the concert that they stripped off their uniforms and joined the crowd. Over 50 people died at this concert as well.
There was actually another similar concert a couple years before this (1988??) in one of the stadiums in Moscow with a bunch of popular western rock/metal artists as well BEFORE the fall of the USSR. Ozzy, Bon Jovi, Skid Row, etc... it was also EPIC but the sound quality of the recording was/is lousy
@@robertboyer5926 yeah it was in 1989 and mötley crüe and cinderella were there also and other great artists

Between 1.7 to 3.5 million! Official stopped counting after 1.7 million and opened the gates to all!
In New Zealand our population is 5 million !
That's just nonsense
@@MarcelH666 its true there were there 1.7million people thats why u see the troopers that was in a unstable moment with a lot of wars going on
@@BetoMelancia But that's no 3.5 million ;-) Counting a crowd like that also seems impossible. 1.7 million is A LOT of people. Also don't forget that metal musis was seen as the devil's music and it was in Russia. Different times ;-)
@@MarcelH666 rod Stewart holds the record,...3,5 million in Brazil....look it up if you think it's nonsense.
Anyone who says they've never heard Metallica before has and just didn't know it :)
I was a 16yo boy in the soviet bloc at that time, it was a historic moment. There's no other drug like freedom.
I love watching reactions to this, and how most of the people reacting don't even understand the significance of what they're watching at the moment. :D
Metallica completely rocked that stage and they were feeding off of the freedom that the Russian people needed at the time of course they had played in front of stadiums of people but over 2 million people live that was unheard of for them but they had no stage fright they went out and rocked it !!!!
They cut it like that at the end cause they immediately go into "Creeping Death" which is another awesome vid from this concert that you should react to. It's goooood!!!!!!!!
Metal Mellie creeping death was how, as a young Pentecostal kid, I justified listening to them. Because, how could it be bad; it’s the Passover story. Now looking back as a 47 year old non believer I think, the Passover story made it ok?! The Passover story is horrific. LOL. It’s just funny how we justify some things in our minds.
There was 1.6 MILLION in attendance...CRAZY!
Btw opening music is from the movie "The Good the Bad and the Ugly".
Metal Mellie by Ennio Genius Morricone
The Jackass guys from MTV used this music as well
@Metal Mellie... Exactly
@@smokeylovesfire1589 omg why? Lol!
@@metalmellie4371 The score is composed by frequent Leone collaborator Ennio Morricone, whose distinctive original compositions, containing gunfire, whistling, and yodeling permeate the film. The main theme, resembling the howling of a coyote, is a two-note melody that is a frequent motif, and is used for the three main characters, with a different instrument used for each one: flute for Blondie (Man with No Name), Arghilofono (Ocarina) for Angel Eyes, and human voices for Tuco
Fun fact: They used Russian army as security (hence all the helicopters and uniform guys at the sidelines)
That crowd had waited for over a decade for Metallica to come to Russia. They weren't about to miss the show. Unbelievable.
That was a free concert paid for by the Russian government this was right after the Berlin Wall fell
The people who wrote and constructed that song you're seeing on stage right now.
Gotta give producer some credit too. They do alot of tweaking of riffs and arranging to make the song flow.
@@williamsaling9648 Lars and james have done almost all tweaking and arranging since the beginning. Kirk wrote the riffs for this song as a teen
@@metallicafan416 Bob Rock. He produced the black album, load and reloaded. Notice how those albums had a softer radio friendly sound? Producer. Rick Rubin replaced Bob Rock after reloaded and it shows as well.
@@williamsaling9648" reloaded" LOL
@@williamsaling9648 btw bob rock replaced after St. Anger not Reload
The intro song is called "The Ecstasy of Gold". It was composed by Ennio Morricone for the Clint Eastwood spaghetti western movie "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly". Metallica has used this song as their intro music for decades now. I've seen Metallica three times and every time I hear "The Ecstasy of Gold" start to play I get goosebumps!! If you liked "Enter Sandman" from Moscow 1991 you should watch the video for "Creeping Death" from the same concert! I can only imagine being surrounded by 1.6 million people all chanting "DIE! DIE! DIE!" in unison!
Thats why Metallica are so good, They write all of their own music!
It's from The Good The Bad and The Ugly. It's titled Exctacy of Gold. You hear it in the cemetary scene....
...and it's the opening track for the S&M concert album, with the orchestra killing it.
Daniel Rupp The ecstasy of gold is in that movie but originally composed by Ennio Morricone and Metallica opens every show with it right before they come out :)
@@met.coasters3562 composed by Morricone for western movie from 60s. Morricone is one of greatest composers of 20th century, write and compose for over 400 movies, tv series, documents and orchestra...
Been a Metallica fan for 30 years now, and just seeing how blown away you are, reminds me of my own feelings each time I listen to them. And being at a concert is REALLY mindblowing. Those guys are real artists, composers, writers, performers!!!
Great of you to have taken the time to see what they're all about. Indeed that period's metal is the real deal. They will join Mozart, Beethoven, etc up there.
1.6 Million fans attended this concert and 53 fans died at this show…
I just discovered these reaction videos. I was introduced to hip hop in the 90’s. Blew my mind. I’m so grateful for that introduction. But seeing a 1st reaction to amazing music period . I’m loving it.
It was a free concert so anyone who wanted to go could just walk in, that’s why there where so many people.
They originally sold 500,000 tickets, but due to the people turning up, they chose to just "open the gates" to everyone
@@IPurpleBTS81 They didn't sell any tickets
"Creeping Death" from the same concert by Metallica !
Goddamn Right!
its 1.6 million people
Literally one of the biggest concerts (possibly THE biggest) in the history of the world. Over 1 mill.
Rod Stewart, live in Rio 3.5 millions, but is not the only to reach that number.
@@tonyvolpino3231 True
@Nadji Ryad I wrote is not the only one ( Rod Stewart ) to reach that number, hopefully you can read if you can write. Anyway this concerts were for free! The most attended paying ticket-holders is italian rocker Vasco Rossi, 220000 paid tickets.
What was really cool about this concert is that there were a bunch of soldiers that were supposed to keep the peace, but if you notice, many of the soldiers just decided it was impossible to control the crowd anyway, and joined the crowd in rocking.
"creeping death"from this concert is probably the best live song ever.i it is so powerful that i have to force myself to chill after listening.great band!rock on!
Harvester of sorrow and creeping death from this same concert. Amazing
Kirk came up with that classic riff. James wrote the lyrics. The sample in the beginning is called ”Ectasy of Gold” and is from the movie ”The Good, The Bad, The Ugly”.
React to Creeping Death from the same concert.
I love how every reactor who isn't into rock/metal, then hits this concert, or Master of Puppets is "Holy shit! Now I GET IT you guys, you were right!"
godholio, nothing better than seeing them come alive, we tried to get their parents to listen, but they wouldn't.
My older cousin introduced me to Metallica when i was in high school. Life was never the same.
Can you imagine being there? I think the energy that all the people gave for this concert is amazing. The audience is hyped already and when they started to play omg!! Its amazing just to watch this video.
About 1.6 million people on an airfield 😍😍 That shit is awesome, you feel the energy from behind a screen bro its insane🔥🔥
Best band of all time for me . I got into metal and picked up the guitar by listening to these guys.
1991 This was the first ever metal concert in Russia. 1.6 million people! I was in the Army at the time serving in Europe and this sorta thing was going on all the time. Good times.
That's the best, to hear someone say 'Oh, I get it now' Respect! Much Love, this was fuckin great! 😘💕🕊

Welcome, u r officially a metal head!!! :D Now u understand, why they are (one of) the best on this planet!
FIRST!! Best kind of Metallica!!! It was reported it dres 1.6 million, but it's been now calculated around 500,000...WHO CARES RIGHT??!! 🎸🎸🎸🥁🔥🔥🔥🤟🧀❤
This was in the area that I lived in Moscow - Tushino Airdrome
The band writes all their own lyrics and music.
Not all songs
Good reaction brother! Love metallica yo death man that intro is insane just like you said. Lol
Two minutes in and he just started singing 😂😂😂. Awesome reaction
@ approx 4:20 dude crawled up from middle earth to enjoy the show
The song in the beginning that Jay-Z also used for a sample is originally from the soundtrack for "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" a legendary western starring Clint Eastwood. The song was composed by Enio Morricone.
My favorite part is still the Soviet kids flying the American flag about 20 seconds in.
I see you know to never interrupt a Kirk guitar solo. There is even better metallica music you need to listen to. Welcome to the family.
If you’re a baseball fan, They would play this song at Yankee Stadium when Mariano Rivera came into the game.
M Dog and for the last time he came out:(
1.6 trillion people!!! Biggest crowd EVER!! lol.
D'yer Care Music legend Rod Stewart holds the current world record for the biggest gig of all time in 1994, he performed on Copacabana Beach to to 3.5 million people celebrating New Year's Eve.
@@cafr399 ,Im aware of that gathering, but its not the same thing. 3.5 million people didnt gather, just because Rod Stewart had a concert. It was new years eve, people gather every year and it just so happened that Stewart was a featured act at the occasion.
For example, , key west ,fl has 24,000 residents. On new years eve, 120,000 people gather to celebrate new years. They often have live music. Lets say band XYZ was the featured band. Well yeah, 120,000 people were there when xyz performed, but it wasnt the reason for the gathering. When Metallica played, there was no other event nor reason for people to be gathering. Huge difference.
D'yer Care Yes, you are correct, and the 1.6 million people weren’t just there for Metallica. AC/DC, KISS, Van Halen, Judas Priest, Motörhead, Cinderella, Ozzy Osbourne, Bon Jovi, Cheap Trick, Mötley Crüe, Ratt, Dio, Y&T, Guns N' Roses, Slayer and Poison, were also performing at the concert.
@@cafr399 how stupid and/or young are you? The 3 biggest bands that played in that famous Monsters of Rock show in Moscow, 1991 was AC/AC ,METALLICA, PANTARA, BLACK CROWS and E.T.P...
Bon Jovi, Motley Crue, Cinderella, Ozzy DID NOT PLAY IN THAT CONCERT. They played in Moscow, in 1989 , at the Moscow Peace Festival. As far as Van Halen, J. Priest, and all those other bands didn't play in either of them..... Go back to rap. You are clueless about rock history.
@Francis Sailo , yeah man.Did you read all his posts? Lmao... Hes so clueless, I think the reason he didn't reply was because he forgot what his computer and keyboard looks like..hehe
Absolutely Agreeable indeed.!!!
I have got speechless man.!!!!!!! Absolutely.!!!!!
1.6 million people..Russia 1991..love what u do..keep it up!!
Love the variety of music 🎶
Metallica said well over 3 million there, that's why the red army was there as security?👁🗨👁🗨
Who wrote it? The blokes playing it
It was counted at least 1 million people were there in Moscow.
1.6 million is the count I've seen most people quote.
500K
You don't have to man! You have hit the holy Grail with Metallica! The only rock group that could Rock back from the 80s until now man !
I connect this event to the song "the sound of silence." Because the Russian revolution took place and the communist government fell to the people. In communist Russia hard rock was outlawed. When the people decided what they want for the celebration they picked a massive hard rock concert. It was the end of the silence and the beginning of freedom.
Welcome to the Metallica family brotha!!
You picked an awesome song to start your Metallica journey with... This is one of the few times where the live version of a song compares to studio. Loved your reaction, Cheese!
❤🧀
Nice reaction mate. New to your channel and just about to subscribe. Prob been mention in comments previously but attendance is estimated at 1.6 million so you’re only 1.4 million out. Russian military stopped counting after letting 800k through the gates and stated their were still the same amount queuing outside still. Unfortunately 12 people died during the day. The intro is (that Jay Z sampled) what they always walk on to. It’s from the good the bad and the ugly film (1965 or 66) enter sandman was written by James Hetfield the lead singer.
If you enjoyed this then you really need to listen to Master of puppets (all about drug addiction) and One which has one of the saddest music videos of all time. Both amazing Metallica tracks. Great job man. Can’t wait to hear more
Like from Panamá🇵🇦🤘🔥
See what happens when you write your own music and have real musicians Pierre Talent.
It's amazing how music knows no boundary's or language. If the shit rocks its going to rock no matter if its in Russia or Iowa.Go Hawks.

U can almost feel the mosh pit crazys smashng into U...Love that one..One of my favrite stadium rock jams...Also love the intro.. from one of my favrite Clint East -wood "spaghetti westrn" movies.. youre going to love allot of that old school metal. especially earlier albums by metallica. i can guarantee you will be head banging and flailing of the arms. rock on man.
You got a new sub from me. I’m loving you! Keep on rockin💜🤘🏻💜🤘🏻
thank you and welcome to the cheese family
Brother, I’m an old head alright, 50. Bought Metallica’s first album, Kill ‘em All when it was released in 1983. I was 13. Check out PANTERA, DOMINATION at this exact show. Then step up to Jinjer, Who Is Gonna Be The One, for metal with ferocious bars unlike you’ve ever heard...
❤❤❤❤❤
The intro is “Ecstacy of Gold.” It was in “The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly,” wich was an old country western movie starring Clint Eastwood you fool!
I took my wife to their concert in Baltimore,,,,,,OMG, the whole city was rocking!
I always love seeing the dude half undressed from his uniform, up on some shoulders rocking out lol
At the full (monsters of rock '91) event were around 1.500.000 people, and at Metallica only, were around 350.000 people. These are the numbers
Great reaction.....as always.
It always amazes me how these 4 men make all that sound!!
My husband introduced me to Metallica with song( which I love), then had me listen to One by Metallica. One is heavy with a deep and sad message. If you listen watch a lyric video before you watch official video so you will understand what is going on in official video. Great reaction, great song. Stay safe and thank you for what you are doing! Prayers for you and your coworkers ❤️
Was a festival...Pantera was there also...watch domination
Yes, DOMINATION - PANTERA.
Intro music is from The good, the bad, the ugly. It’s old western movie 🎥 🍿 starring Clint Eastwood. Love Metallica!!!
These kids got the release they'd been looking for forever.
Metallica one of he best live concerts I have ever been too!
You should listen to playlist of all their music!
Im a singer and musician and Im a fan of all kinds of genre of music. Though I grew up on country and southern Gospel. I also had a wide range of music that I liked and jammed too in my room and later when I was in my teen years. I started a rock band and sang alot of cover songs from alot of my favorite bands. People also loved me to sing songs from the Band Heart and Alanis Morrisette like her song "You Outta Know", and and I often sang Marilyn Mansons version of Tainted Love. I also like his song Beautiful People. He was a little freaky but when he sings Tainted Love you can really see how talented of a singer he was.
Im in my 30's so I was born in the 80's. So I grew up listening Metallica and Rob Zombie Living Dead Girl and Linkin Park "Numb" "In The End" and Bon Jovi and Rage Against the Machine "Killing in the Name of", Emenim, Boyz 2 Men, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, alot of popular 90's country music artist had alot of great songs back in the day as well. And of course I was also into pop and boybands as well like Nsync and Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears, 98%, KC and Jojo "All My Life" is a very beautiful song often played at weddings.
Matchbox 20 "3a.m." and many other songs from each of these artists. Black Eyed Peas has a very good song called "Where is the Love" that sings a strong mesg that people need to hear today.
Eminem did a song based of a true story about a shooting. Eminem sings the song like he is singing from the shooters perspextive who was struggling from mental illness. And Emeniem is able to also put himself in the same position because there was nobody like him as an artist. He was all alone. So in a way he can sympathize. And the message at the end for so beautiful. It still brings tears to my eyes. I remember seeing this song when it first cane on. I have been a Emimen fan since he was first discovered. And I saw him in live performance when he sang his Real Slim Shady song. I knew he was somerhing special and unique. And I was a teenager when. He came out on the scene. And I had a HUGE crush on him and I still do. Lol! I guess he is the right kind of bad boy for me. But has good in him too.💖
Mary J B. Had some good songs too and Missy Elliot, I listened to 2Pac and I remember when other singers came out for the first time like Limp Biscuit and Korn. I remember seeing Korns song for the first time the song was released on MTV TRL and its called "Freak on a Leash". Amd it will blow your mind away after the Korn singer scream "GO"! to the bullet in his faceithe does this very crazy singing solo. You would just have to watch it. I remember my friends and I freaking out when we saw it for the first time on TRL. This guy came out on the scene for the first time and blew us away. He and Emimen and Snoop Dog even made an appearance in one of Limp Biscuits videos. My Husband saw Limp Biscuit in concert and said they were freaking awesome. My hubby and I are into alot of the same music. And we are also huge Alice n Chains fans. Now that singer right there is a freaking legend!
And you should hear them on MTV unplugged. Buy the cd that also comes with the dvd of them on unplugged. I assure you that you will NOT regret it. They are one of the best bands Ive ever heard unplugged. Mariah Careys unplugged was very good too.
I could introduce you to a TON of good music back in my day.
I also liked Lauren Hill "Everything" I think you would also like her because she had a big heart and produced music that had a deep meaning.
Also the Fugee's "Killing Me Softly" is a song I often sing in my band.z
Hey! I may be white but I have an appreciation for R&B and some rap. I even listened to Will Smith when he was younger. Even though he is older than me. I still remember him from his show Freah Prince. Speaking of Prinze check out his song "Purple Rain" I had a HUGE crush on him and Michael Jackson and also on Tyrese Gibson when he first came out and sang songs like Sweet Lady and Lately. He had alot of good songs. And man alive he was one fine brother. He had alot of girls falling for him back in the day.
I also remember band like Blink 182. They have been around alot longer than some realize. I think they formed their band in the late 80's. Man I could easily name 100's of bands and singers and hit songs. There is just not enough room to name them all. And Im already leaving alot of my favorites out.
There's also Green Day, Michelle Branch "Everything", Seether, Evanecence, Avril L., Salt n Pepper, Paula Abdul "Straight Up...", Cindi Lauper, TLC "No Scrubs", Alliyah R.I.P., Amy Winehouse R.I.P., Pink, Christina Aguilera "You Are Beautiful","What a Girl Wants", also her Mulan and Moulin Rouge movie songs I forget the names of the titles. She had several good songs back in the day.
I also loved the duet between Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston from the movie Prince of Egypt called "When You Believe". And Mariah Careys duet woth Boyz 2 Men called One Sweet Day that is a great song dedicated to anyome who has lost a loved one.
Bryan Adams "Everything I Do I Do It For You".
When I was in a rock band in my teen years, I often sang alot of No Doubt songs. I like her song "Im Just A Girl", She was such a icon for girls too look up too. She really knew how to empower women with girl power. Speaking of Girl Power, Spice Girls was HUGE when I was in elementary school. Alot of the girls bought those tall shoes like the Spice Girls wore. They even had a movie called Spice World. Lol! Looking back it was kind of cheesy but you loved them so much back then you just did not care. Lol!
Edwin McCain had a great song that was popular called I'll Be. Alot of some of my favorite songs I hear often when I watch old episodes of Dawson's Creek or Charmed or One Tree Hill. I remember when one of my fav bands called Fallout Boy guest starred and sang one of their hit songs on the show One Tree Hill.
Cranberries has some great songs. Linger is probably my favorite song of theirs. Also the band called The Sundays. They have the best cover song for Wild Horses. Their entire album is great.
Whitesnake had alot of good songs. "Is the Love" was one of my fav songs of theirs. The Beegees, Beasty Boys were something else. I remember when they were popular. I liked their music video to their song called Sabotage.
Also check out Rage Against the Machine Bulls On Parade and Killing In the Name Of.
Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin "Whole Lotta Love", ACDC "BACK IN BLACK" is a song you will really love to jam too. You might have already heard it played at a football game. Also their song called "Shook Me All Night Long", that is some baby making music for you. Lol!
Boyz 2 Men "I'll Make Love To You", the band Journey "Faithfully", "Dont Stop Believin" they have several hit songs you should check out. Queen has lot of great songs, Bohemian Rhapsody will blow your mind away. He had a versatile unique voice. At first the song is so sweet and soulful and mello, then it changes to opera, then it changes to rock and then back to soothing mello music. It was crazy! And so freaking awesome at the time and still is.
I also like Freddie Mercurys (lead singer of Queen) song called "Crazy Little Thing Called Love, and then there was Marci Playground "Sex and Candy".
Now ts not what I would call my favorite song. But its a very memorable song back in its day because it was just so out there and strange but somehow very popular back in the day. And I still remember when t first came out. It as weird then as it is still weird now. Lol!
Also Savage Garden "Truly Madly Deeply", and Jon Bon Jovis songs like, Livin On A Prayer, Dead or Alive and otherd. My mother met them in person and got her picture taken with them and their autograph. She had a huge crush on the lead singer.
Some of my family is also in the music buisness. And my cousin is good friends with Country Music Star legend Hank Williams Jr. Hank has a house not too far way. Him and my cousin play music together and go golfing together.
Hank is a really nice down to earth guy. You should check out his music as well.
NJ Cheese, keep doing what you do.
1.6 Million people....and this is 3rd on the all time list of crowds at an open air concert. #1 is Rod Stewart at Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil with a crowd of 3.5 Million in 1994. #2 was Jean Michel Jarre in 1997 also in Russia, like that Metallica show, with 3.5 Million.
There are more videos from this concert.
1.6 million!!!!!!!!!!! Now that’s a fricking show
RAPPERS ALWAYS SAY THEY SELL OUT STADIUMS 🏟, MATALICA SAYS THATS NICE 👍 WE SOLD OUT A COUNTRY. LOL 😂
React to Metallica- Master of puppets live in Seattle 1989. Greatest concert ever recorded
This concert was held at an air field and was a free concert sponsored by Time Warner soon after the fall of the Soviets.
Heres a short clip on James Hetfield talking about the experience of this concert and the background of it on a Joe rogans podcast-> ruclips.net/video/qmSgl4mwZ4Q/видео.html
This was after the fall of the communist regime in Russia after the Cold War. These people had been so oppressed by communism that when they were finally free to attend a concert, pretty much all of Moscow attended. 1.6 million!!!
Metal smokes all other music on the planet. These guys write all their own music (and lyrics) and play their own instruments. No computer generated bullshit, no ghost writers, just pure, raw talent.
If you like this, you need to react to Pantera, Domination live in Moscow (same concert). Be prepared to get your face melted off!!!
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
always has been and still is my favorite band of all time. the lyrics - all amazing meaning, talent obviously that's amazing, smart, plus the transitions from bass line to drum line to guitar it's all amazing Metallica is thEEEEE metal band no one is even comparable what they've done in the early 80s was insane
One of the largest music audiences in music history. 1 million I believe attended
Estimated 1,600,000 people jamming to that concert 😊
Great reaction! Metallica is truly world class. If you like this rabbit hole you’re going down I suggest you open yourself up to Led Zeppelin, one of the forefront groups on the precipice of what metal is today. Serious swag and bangers to no end. Oh and Pink Floyd is if you’re ready to pick up pieces of your brain off of the ceiling same with Tool just to start. Keep listening to Metallica my friend!
Great video!!👍
Thank you! 👍
A hard rock or heavy metal concert should be on everyone's bucket list, but it has to be a good band, not just anyone.
That was a free concert too. Biggest crowd for a metal concert maybe any concert
I just found your channel. Wonderful reaction! You seem to really get it. Your comments were all spot on. Metalica is amazing and Sandman is one of my all time fav songs. If you want to see a rock band mesmerize a crowd in my opinion even more than this epic video, watch RUSH perform YYZ (Live) in Rio. Just a suggestion, but you will not regret it. Should be great for your channel. Peace.

Ohhhh I remember seeing this in person been way to long since I’ve seen Metallica live it was a day where music only mattered and the Berlin Wall fell
Im a metalhead, and i know this song like 14 years now (im 14) I still have goosebumps. METALLICA FAMILY
Dude, if you really want to understand how songs like these get made, specifically this one and the album it's on...I HIGHLY recommend you watch "A Year and a Half in the life of Metallica" which is on RUclips. Really great documentary that follows how they created songs on this album and the 1.5 year straight tour they went on which includes this show.
been to a show mind blowing and exhausting i loved ever second of it
1.6 million. Hope we are going to see something like this again.
Would love to here 4 horsemen from metalica..just a thought..keep doing what you do!
Now Creeping Death Metallica same concert!!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Around 1 million people attended that concert. For context, thats the entire population of the state of Rhode Island....
This is the song Virginia Tech football team rolls into their stadium. The fans go absolutely crazy...
This was the best time in music for metal. This was when I was introduced to death metal.
Hey man! It's just 1,6 million people there 😂😂😂 That wasn't JZ intro! That is the song from the movie 'the good, the bad and the agly' named 'rush of gold' if I remember correctly. That's the intro that every Metallica live is beginning for the last 30 years
This live was the third most crowded concert in history of music 🤘
Exctacy of gold... Sorry
Exctacy of gold... Sorry 😁
The total attendance for the concert is estimated at 1.6 million, although the "official" tally varies and it's likely that not that many were there all at once. It was a free, daylong event that also featured AC/DC, Pantera, and Black Crowes.
"Ecstasy of gold" is the intro classic by Ennio Morricone featured as OST in the movie "The good, the bad and they ugly",and Metallica owns the right to play to start their gig.
